As president of the Sammie Lynn Puett Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America at the University of Tennessee during the 2011-2012 academic year, I created a variety of items to promote chapter activities and attract new members.
In this position, I was responsible for planning and moderating monthly chapter meetings, including securing guest speakers and determining meeting topics. Additionally. I managed an eight-member executive board to carry out all chapter functions. I learned how to effectively lead and work with people of differing values and opinions, which I consider an invaluable experience both professionally and personally.
